Is Permafrost on PS5? PlayStation Availability Explained

Is Permafrost available on PlayStation 5?

Not as a confirmed released edition in the official material checked on October 10, 2026. The Steam listing for AppID 2254990 confirms a Windows PC Early Access release. The developers’ launch announcement and support instructions are PC/Steam-oriented.

This does not mean the game could never appear on consoles. It means there is no verified PlayStation Store release you can buy today based on these sources.

How to check before paying

Question	Verified information
Can I purchase and download Permafrost for PS5 now?	No confirmed PS5 edition in the reviewed first-party listings
Is the PC game released?	Yes — Early Access October 9, 2026
Does a PS5 launch date exist?	None verified as a dated official announcement
Can a PS5 join a PC lobby?	No verified console crossplay support; console version not confirmed

Look for a product page on the PlayStation Store and an announcement from Toplitz Productions / SpaceRocket Games before treating a console release as real.

What can you play meanwhile?

Permafrost’s confirmed playable version is on PC. Compare your machine against the official minimum/recommended requirements; then use the Steam guide to reach the correct store page.

If you are interested in the timing rather than current availability, the separate PS5 release-date tracker explains how we distinguish a dated announcement from a listing rumor. Xbox status is covered at Permafrost Xbox.
